the session took about 3 minutes outside before we could no longer feel our faces and fingers, and bump!

I LOVED this wedding from a couple years ago.... and was thrilled when they were visiting family in Whistler over the weekend and called me to photograph their growing family!

this last week i went to my most favorite city to meet this amazing family... we walked commercial street... went for coffee... and captured life. it is my most favorite part of photography... just capturing real life... people loving each other, doing things they love.

well... this time we lucked out with the weather!! 

the sun was falling perfectly through the trees as we walked to the beach... 

and this couple... ahhhhh.... 

so in love... so true. 

so beautiful. 

an honor... this job is simply an honor.

oh... and this... this light is why 7pm sessions are perfect!! 

vancouver maternity pictures in the rain...

we got rained out for this session.... 

but when we met i knew immediately that the rain did not matter... that is was completely meant to be... 

instead of meeting together on the beach i ran upstairs to the cutest apartment full of light, color and texture. and in the midst of rescheduling the session i asked if i could just shoot a couple in the apartment. the mini impromptu session was maybe 20 minutes. 

we will do another shoot on the beach as planned but i have a feeling that these will be my favorite. 

it is just real life... time and moments captured.

i am continually blown away by my clients. they are the most humble and inspiring of people. 

no one ever comes to me with who they are... it is always through the session that the story reveals itself. it is the chit chat while shooting, the paying attention to the little details (a photo on the wall, an accessory, a story, a shared laugh)... this story revealed a most talented actress and a gifted artist... i cannot stop listening to this music!

that is what they are calling the babe to be... a nice mixture between ben and margret!! LOL

that was one of the many laughs we had this weekend... it was just wonderful to spend a whole weekend capturing these beautiful interesting, inspiring couple... we spent their typical weekend together... drinking coffee, lounging around the house, walking at the beach, riding bikes and having dinners with friends. 

it was so inspiring for me... for many reasons. one is that it was a much needed break form the eternal winter in whistler... and two this is such a creative couple. margaret works for HBO, and Ben is a cinematographer..... so the ideas for photos... the talk of all things visual... was amazing. 

it was a wonderful weekend and i am leaving refreshed and excited about the season ahead.
