i always love this process... i can learn so much about the bride and groom to be... about the details of the wedding... and then i get to be creative and come up with great ideas that will be flattering and complimentary to the couple and the day...

for this couple it was all about interaction, capturing candid moments... and a touch of orange and fun...

i love doing couple photos... especially engagement.

we get such a sense of the personalities,and dynamics of the couple... which works out great to know before photographing them on the wedding day.... we get comfortable with one another... which ends up making a world of difference to the photos.

this beautiful couple is having a winter whistler wedding.... and so we thought the summer engagement photos would be fitting...

the location, the lake they got engaged at, perfect!

they were so fun... and so funny...

I laughed the whole time... engagement sessions are perfect just for that reason... you get to know the couple... and the couple gets to know you... and the photos...

they are just comfortable and real...

i love these... i love that they show the love of this couple... simple and sweet.

I'm SO EXCITED!!

Chad mocked me in the car because he thinks I overdid it with telling this groom and bride to be how excited i was about the wedding... and fully... i did. It just kept coming out of my mouth... I could not stop it...

This will be our first Indian wedding... and every since Chad and I started wedding photography I have wanted to photograph the beautiful colors and details of an Indian wedding. Chad and I actually met in India... We both had a 4 day layover in Delhi... and through a series of unexpected events ended up in the same hotel. We both loved our time there... individually and together... and it was in India where we fell in love. We have travelled back many times but not since having children. We hope to go back again soon.

So there are many reasons to be SO excited about this upcoming wedding... and we had a lovely night in Vancouver photographing this engagement session.

S&A I will say it just one more time.... I AM SO EXCITED!!!

whistler engagement

it is so fun to spend time with our brides and grooms in the engagement sessions before the wedding. we get such a feel for who they are... and then when the day comes along... there is a comfort with one another that is integral to the intimacy captured at the wedding!

excited about this local wedding coming up this summer...

chad even joined up with the family and couple for some action mountain photos!

from last nights engagement session...
it was so fun.... we are very excited to photograph this wedding!!

the light was strong as it is finally summer here... so it was challenging to work with the light... however... i love what we got... lots of flare and filtered rays....

it felt good to be challenged! so... just one... and then the boys and i are heading out for a session in vancouver... some modeling for the boys and a clothing store shoot for me.... VERY EXCITED!!!! Will post more of that... and this... early next week!!
