we moved to whistler 6 years ago in the fall.... as a mom with a new baby and a 1 year old... i was unsure of this move... we did not know many people... and i had only ever been to whistler in the winter when there were tunnels of snow... (ummm... i don't like the snow (insert gasp from all of you winter snow lovers)... so needless to say... i was nervous.
what met me instead after our long journey from Toronto was "fall".... yellows and reds... white tipped mountains... hot coffee's, long walks, new forever friendships... a community of young families.... gorgeous lakes and the farmers market where we could buy hot 'corn on the cob' dripped in butter and salt. it took about two minutes to feel like home... and the thought and smell of fall always gets me through the long winters here!
sitting at lost lake last week waiting for a client i glanced at this place i love... took a deep breathe... and was thankful. i looked at the sky and the lake and the reflection of beauty...
i decided to try a technique that is new to me... called 'panning'....
(i am pretty sure i did it wrong=)
and in the end when the photos came up on my computer... they looked beautiful to me... they looked fast and they were imperfect... a lot like the last six years of life here...
starting a business... a family... new friends... marriage... life...
perfectly imperfect but always beautiful.
